My Dear Light Up Team, Greetings and Best Wishes for a Great Rotary year ahead. It is my pleasure to share my thoughts through this message in District Directory for RY 2014-15. Among many unique features of Rotary, I have always wondered on the wisdom of Rotary on One year leadership for Club and District Leadership. The Past Leaders of our illustrious district have paved the roadmap to this glorious phase of our Rotary District. This brings out the best of Rotary Leaders and in my opinion, that is the main moving force for keeping Rotary growing… Rotary District 3230 has a pride of place in Rotary World for its growing Membership, Giving to TRF and vibrant projects. Most of our clubs perform very well and for the current Rotary Year , the Change Makers are really shaking the district with very innovative projects . The District will continue to perform well every year because of the inherent strength.
Success is not an easy commodity and it has to be earned with great dedication and hard work. To achieve this and to ensure that every Club performs well, the District has a perfect formula of effective training program to prepare the district and club level leaders. Out training programs – AGTS, PETS,SETS, Series of Leadership Summits, Pre Year Workshops and District Assembly – every program is designed to prepare leaders to reach new heights every year.
The District Directory Team with Rtn.P.R.Anandram as Chairman and Rtn.K.Nagendra Babu as Advisir under the complete coordination by District Secretary 2014-15 Rtn.G.Chandramohan has worked very hard to bring out this Directory on time. The untiring efforts of Rtn.V.K.Padmanabhan, Rtn.K.Munuswamy and many others made it possible.
Rotary International President for 2014-15 has given us a wonderful theme in “ Light Up Rotary “. Influenced by the most respected Chinese philosopher Confucius, our World Leader Rtn.Gary Huang has given us a call to Light up Rotary by engaging Rotary to change lives. Together, we will Light Up Rotary…….
ENGAGE ROTARY, CHANGE LIVES
“If we really want to take Rotary service forward, then we must make sure that every single Rotarian has the same feeling about Rotary that each one of us here has today,” Burton said. “We need to make sure that every Rotarian has a meaningful data-role to play, that they’re all making a contribution, and that their contribution is valued.”
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
This is an incredibly exciting time to be a Rotarian. This Rotary year can be one of the greatest years we have yet experienced in Rotary – but it is up to each one of us. We are now writing the last chapter in our fight against polio. While it has been a long, hard journey, we have learned many valuable lessons. We have learned that as a group we can move mountains, we can change people’s lives for the better, and we can honestly make a difference in our world. Perhaps the greatest lesson has been that the more we challenge ourselves, the more we can achieve.
We are also embarking on a new chapter in the storied history of our Rotary Foundation. We have the rare privilege of launching an entirely new grant structure we’ve come to know as Future Vision. It gives us the opportunity to challenge ourselves to do the absolute most we can, with all of our resources. Just think how much more we can do with a stronger Foundation, with stronger clubs filled with more Rotarians who are fully engaged in Rotary service.
It’s time for us to recognize that the real challenge we face isn’t just bringing new members into Rotary. It’s turning all members into true Rotarians. It’s helping members get engaged in Rotary – helping them realize the potential they have, and how their Rotary service can change lives. We need to make sure that every member is active and contributing, and making a real difference – because when you’re doing meaningful work in Rotary, Rotary is meaningful to you.
When we realize what we can achieve in Rotary – when we really engage Rotary – that’s when lives change. We change the lives of the people who need us. That is inevitable. And along the way, our lives are changed as well. That is also inevitable. That’s what our theme is all about in 2013-14: Engage Rotary, Change Lives.
It’s time to open our eyes to the potential each of us has through Rotary. Rotary lets us reach higher, do more, and be a part of something larger than ourselves. No matter how much we give to Rotary, we get more in return. And that, too, is inevitable.
In 2013-14, let’s turn all of our potential into reality. It’s up to us. We can do it by engaging in Rotary service, by getting involved, by staying inspired, and by remembering every day the gift we have in Rotary. Together, we will Engage Rotary, Change Lives
I am extremely happy to engage with you through this District Directory !
We begin the new rotary year with a theme that encapsulates the very spirit of rotary - “Engage Rotary - Change Lives”. Earlier this year we were also fortunate to be visited by the very person who gave us this wonderful theme – R.I.President Ron D Burton. His visit has motivated all of us to focus our actions and redouble our efforts to live up to this inspiring theme.
Friends, first of all let us all learn to enjoy rotary. The best place to find that enjoyment is in our own home club and the best way to do that would be to give prime importance to Club Service. Regular weekly meetings and family fellowships are the foundations of a strong club. Monthly board meetings, where club activities are reviewed, plans and budgets are approved are the pillars on which a healthy club is supported. All other activities and projects in the various other avenues will flow out easily from a club that lays strong emphasis on club service activities.
I am sure the run-up to rotary year 2013 - 2014 has been very joyous and eventful for you, as much as it has been for me and the District Team. The training programs, seminars and workshops have all seen swelling participation from the presidents and Club teams.
This year I would like each and every rotarian of our district to be engaged in some rotary related activity or other at club or district level. I would encourage you to think of every possible way, big or small, by which we can make a difference and change lives while engaging rotary and rotarians. Every year the new team does progressively better and sets newer and higher benchmarks which inspires and motivates others. It is natural for successive teams to try and excel these benchmarks. I am sure Changemakers of our district will challenge themselves to individually and collectively scale newer heights and set higher benchmarks in the larger pursuit of identified rotary goals and shared objectives.
Together we shall engage rotary and change lives! I once again exhort all of you to put in all efforts to achieve all that you have set out for yourself and my best wishes to all of you for a great and wonderful changemaker year ahead!
